Repair disk permissions from the command line

For some reason, under Mac OS 10.7 Lion, Disk Utility refuses to repair disk permissions or verify the volume.
These can still be done from the command line.
sudo diskutil repairPermissions /Here's the direct link. Thanks for spreading the word!
